First of all, enjoy summer. I hope all my kiddos spend time outdoors. I hope they hike. I hope they swim. I hope they explore. I hope they go somewhere they have never been. And I hope they make memories. I also hope they keep everything they learned this year! What can parents do to help? Encourage your child to read, read, read! Read novels and picture books. Spend time with a good audio book. Read brochures for places you visit. Just read! Stay sharp in math by cooking (recipes are full of fractions!), working on Khan Academy, playing on Prodigy or check out the new Summer Slugger program on EverFi using access code 76371040.

Mrs. Huss
I graduated from Piedmont College with a Masters of Art in Teaching. I have been teaching since 2007. I have been married since 1999, and we have one daughter, Leila. Away from work I enjoy spending time with my family, reading, hiking, and staying active. I love animals and the color purple :) Archives
