Thank you, Dave and Christian, for posing behind our hazy classroom window that now doubles as or progress check.
4th grade students have to master their basic math fact fluency. This mastery is determined by correctly answering 95 problems in 5 minutes. Think that sounds easy? It's not! Congratulations to Dakota who knocked hers out on the first try with 100% for multiplication and 99% for division!

Wow. That sums up my day. If you haven't yet, be sure to visit my Teacher Tube page at http://www.teachertube.com/user/bhuss The planning and follow through of these kids is amazing. Thanks to all of my amazing students who worked together to plan, research, write, film, and provide technical support to each other. You guys ROCK! The picture to the left shows Allison and Cristina. Want to know why they are holding a broken teacup? Watch Allison's video! Cristina was her amazing off-screen helper. 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders have each completed an in depth geography unit. As a culminating task, students chose a location to research. They then wrote and filmed travel commercials. Thinking of taking a trip? Start here for some great ideas! http://www.teachertube.com/user/bhuss
Today our first graders gathered straw, sticks, and rocks to build with. Tomorrow they will be WOLVES and try to blow their structures down. This is the culminating piece to our integrated unit about pigs. We have learned all about comparing and contrasting, building materials, and lung capacity!
