By the end of our thematic unit on pigs, the kiddos had read four variations of the story The Three Little Pigs, gathered materials, made predictions, weighed, measured, and charted data, and built mini-structures. Could they huff and puff and blow them down? Not so much. But what a great learning experience!

Hunter is learning to weave! This enrichment exercise illustrates how the Native Americans wove materials such a white oak, hickory bark, and honeysuckle to make baskets. Great job, Hunter!
SS2H2 The student will describe the Georgia Creek and Cherokee cultures of the past. 5th Grade Advanced Content students worked collaboratively to create visual time lines using different forms of media. Here you can see Jewellee, Dave, and Allison working through Google Docs. Click here to see their amazing work! By working collaboratively, these students were able to maximize time. Every twenty minutes gave them an hour of work time collectively! Way to go, guys! Students: Please be mindful that you need to complete two-three sessions in MobyMax each week. These CAN be done from home. However, if you are working from home, please do not get help. Reading sessions for STORIES and LITERATURE. Math is the MATH section only. That being said, enjoy your Fall Break, and please don't do MobyMax over the break. Go outside. Climb a tree. Get dirty ... but take your shoes off before you go inside. |
