Math - We are wrapping up Module 1 and will begin Module 2: Multiplying and Dividing Whole Numbers and Decimals soon. See this great parent tip sheet for our next math unit.
Reading - Please, please, please help hold your child accountable for the 20 mins of required nightly reading. Here are some great questions to ask your child after they finish reading their novel or listening to their audio book each night. I am so excited that many of the kiddos have selected to read one of the Tome novels. Thank you so much to the families that have donated copies of the books to our class library. We have 25 students, and right now we have 18 Tome novels. Wouldn't it be great to have just a few more?
Writing - Narrative writing of small moment stories. This week we are focusing on slowing down and building tension. We have also started writing our Cotton Boll speeches. These are 30 second commercials that will be presented to a panel of judges in November.
Science - Coming soon ... vertebrates vs invertebrates preview for Camp Wahsega!
Social Studies - Inventors and Inventions from the turn of the century. I have found these four super quick videos (less than 5 mins each) to help your kiddo get a head start on all they need to know. There are some great videos and documentaries out there. I chose these four because they are quick and fun ... especially the Bell one 😁. Try watching them together as a family.
Important Dates:
