When we return to school we will be getting ready for Milestones and MAP testing. Here are some excellent tools to help prepare students:
- Common Testing Terms - Click HERE for an article with resources (great for parents). Click HERE for a quick break down of the most common testing terms students need. Or, click HERE to play a Quizlet game over 12 of the most common test terms for 5th grade. How can you help your child? Use these words in everyday conversation!
- Milestones Mania - This is an OPTIONAL task for students to complete at home from March 31 - April 13. Students have a paper copy of this tic-tac-toe style learning activity. A digital version can be found on Google Classroom. How can you help your child? Help them select boxes that best fit their learning needs. Then, verify and sign off on their progress. Return to school when complete.
- Read, Read, Read - encourage your child to read over Spring Break. Snap a quick pic of all the fun places they read, and share it with us on FaceBook @ejeschallenge or on Twitter @00Huss. Want access to FREE eBooks? Ask your child to show you Epic or our HUGE catalog of eBooks from the school OverDrive account!
- Screen Time (technology) - Encourage students to use screen time productively. Some excellent tools are Khan Academy (especially Mappers), EverFi, Prodigy, or eBooks (see links above).
- Most importantly ... Get outside! Go explore! Find out what's under that log or rock! Climb a tree! Get dirty! Go hiking! Stomp through a creek! Pick up a weird bug! Make a crown of wildflowers! Play!
